The Technical Support Specialist’s main duty is to offer IT assistance and support to the faculty, staff, and students of the Baldwin community. This support ranges from hardware, printers, scanners to software and cloud-based programs. The Technical Support Specialist will track all instances of support by creating IT tickets using ticket-tracking software. They will update the status of each ticket as they successfully assist each user with their issues. Good customer service skills essential.
The Technical Support Specialist will focus on keeping systems updated and running smoothly.
First level of IT Support consisting of hardware break fix, software support, and printer support
Install and configure computer systems and cloud-based applications
Actively update, maintain and monitor all aspects of laptop inventory
Organize and file documentation pertaining to warranties and instructional guides for computer hardware
Assist management in creating training materials pertaining to computer troubleshooting and usage
Other duties as assigned
Strong working knowledge of common information technologies and systems
Ability to troubleshooting common IT problems
1-3 years of relevant experience in a customer-focused position
Time-management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable deadlines for resolution
Comfortable working in and assisting others through help desk software
Managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high customer service standards
Communicating complex concepts to a general audience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technology field is preferred
Experience working in a school environment and familiarity with tools and software used in schools, including Smartboards and other classroom audio and video hardware
Experience with GSuite Admin console.
Experience with GSuite educational applications
