The Phelps School is an all-boys’ 6th through 12th grade independent day and boarding school in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Currently, The Phelps School is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated Business Associate and Accounts Payable Coordinator to work 30 hours per week supporting our business office. Successful candidates will be committed to supporting the mission of the School.
Accounts payable recordkeeping and maintenance
Review invoices for accuracy and completeness
Prepare weekly accounts payable check runs; prepare weekly and monthly reports to support the Comptroller
Prepare bank reconciliations for various accounts
Assist faculty, administration, and staff with petty cash, reimbursement and other accounts payable functions
Assist in budget analysis and general ledger activities by preparing reports for Administrators; monitor and analyze expenditures vs budget and other general ledger accounts; activities
Perform other basic clerical duties as assigned
Successful candidates will possess:
Associates degree in bookkeeping, accounting or a related field plus 1 to 3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are required
Ability to work independently
Self-motivated and problem-solving orientation
Strong customer service orientation and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Proficiency with use of computer technology including Microsoft Office; experience with Blackbaud Accounting Software strongly desired
