CFS is seeking an enthusiastic individual to serve as a faculty member in the STEAM Department for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. This full-time faculty position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.  A Master’s Degree and at least five years of teaching experience are preferred.  All CFS faculty share responsibilities in the academic, athletic, residential, and co-curricular life of the School. The school will consider part-time candidates who would only teach four courses.

 Specific responsibilities include mathematics instruction at the Upper School level in a 21^st Century learning environment.  The successful candidate will have knowledge of and experience with a broad spectrum of Upper School mathematics content, with specific emphasis on applications of topics covered in Algebra I, Algebra II, and Statistics.  Applicants should be skilled in integrating technology in classroom instruction and in project-based learning methodologies.

 All candidates must be comfortable in a culturally diverse, all-male student environment, be able to nurture the development of students’ critical thinking and analytical skills, and be facile in helping students respond creatively to the world around them.  CFS seeks a teacher who will display clear evidence of the charisma and intensity necessary to motivate students, a level of collegiality that will add to the professionalism of our adult community, the eloquence that defines a liberally-educated scholar, and the diversity of experiences that are characteristic of a life-long learner. 

 Additional responsibilities include advising students and attending regular school meetings, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities.  The ideal candidate will be able to participate more broadly in school life by sponsoring clubs and extracurricular activities, coaching interscholastic teams or sponsoring after-school clubs, chaperoning school activities on and off campus, serving as an affiliate in regular dormitory duty, being an integrated member of the CFS community, and generally being available to students in our residential environment. Given restrictions in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some co-curricular faculty responsibilities may be curtailed. Classroom instruction will likely include a blend of in-person and distance learning.
