MAIN LINE REFORM TEMPLE
Main Line Reform Temple Beth Elohim (MLRT), founded in 1983, is a vibrant Reform Jewish community of 700+ families. Our vision is to “Be Inspired. Be Connected. Belong.” We strive to be a place of sacred encounters where learning, prayer and deeds change people’s understanding of themselves, of their world and their responsibilities in it. At MLRT, the creation of an inclusive and welcoming community is both an enduring value and an ongoing endeavor. For us, community means a sense of warm welcome, meaningful relationships, and mutual responsibility. MLRT has a long history of being a “lay led” congregation committed to a participatory, egalitarian and democratic process, both in ritual practice and governance. ...t the diverse spiritual, religious, educational, and social needs of all of our members. Our Early Childhood Education (ECE) Program, pre-COVID, had an enrollment of approximately 150 students. The program begins at 6 months with a mommy and me program, the school begins at 18 months through a full day Kindergarten program. The program also includes early care and extended care and accepts children that are not toilet trained and is able to accept children with learning needs. The ECE is a community within the larger Temple community and provides opportunities for families to learn, socialize and engage in social justice and is there for families during important life cycle events.
Lower Merion township is located approximately 15 minutes outside of Philadelphia, is accessible by public transportation and is 40% Jewish, has 6 congregations, several conservative and several associated early childhood programs. A large portion of our members work in Center City.
