The Agnes Irwin School invites nominations and applications for the position of Chief Financial Officer.
Since the School’s founding in 1869, The Agnes Irwin School has dedicated itself to providing an exceptional and empowering education for girls. Rooted in academic excellence, scholarship, community, and collaboration, AIS consistently tailors its programs to the distinctive and individual needs of girls, always holding fast to the principle that a girl’s educational journey from childhood through graduation should be joyful, challenging, creative, and inspirational. The School’s financial condition is strong with an endowment value of over $26 million and an annual operating budget of approximately $21 million. The School is located on a beautiful campus in Philadelphia’s Main Line suburbs, allowing AIS students, faculty, and staff to benefit from access to the comprehensive cultural, educational, environmental, and industry resources that the Philadelphia area provides.
Reporting to Head of School Sally Keidel, the Chief Financial Officer establishes and maintains the financial infrastructure and policies for the fiscal integrity of the institution and ensures the School’s daily operations effectively meet the mission. The CFO partners with the Head of School and the senior team in planning and development to ensure that approved strategic initiatives are appropriately funded, while working collaboratively across the School with both internal and external stakeholders. The CFO also acts as a liaison to the Board, staffing the finance, audit, and investment committees; provides strategic leadership and advice; and is responsible for financial strategy decisions. Areas of supervision include the business office, human resources, facilities, security, transportation, and auxiliary programming as well as relationships with outside vendors including dining services. The most qualified candidate will be a leader possessing the highest personal and professional integrity with strong technical skills, a track record as an excellent communicator and manager, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. They will be committed to joyfully supporting the mission of a leading, independent, girls’ school with a genuine desire to engage actively in the life of the School.
