The Shipley School seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Lower School Teacher (Grades One and Three). This exempt position will report directly to the Head of Lower School.

Major Responsibilities:

• Create an intellectually challenging program informed by developmentally appropriate and research-based practices that is inquiry-based, rigorous, and integrates culturally responsive pedagogy.
• Individualize and differentiate instruction, nurture wellbeing, and be able to motivate and challenge students utilizing a variety of instructional and assessment methods
• Assume responsibility for all work included in a teaching assignment including progress reports, conferences and home/school communication, scheduling, etc.
• Integrate technology to enrich student learning
• Cultivate a sense of community, social responsibility, and an appreciation and respect for individual differences
• Work closely and cooperatively with colleagues and administrative teams
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, kindness, enthusiasm, a sense of humor, willingness to learn and grow professionally, a cooperative spirit and a commitment to teamwork

  • Have a minimum of three years teaching elementary experience
