The Phelps School, an independent, all-boys, college-preparatory day and boarding school in Malvern, PA with about 85-100 students in grades 6-12/PG, is seeking a full-time Mathematics instructor.

The faculty and staff at Phelps are motivated by working with young people to instill the love of learning not only in their respective fields but also in the broader community. Phelps strives to assist all students in finding success in and out of the classroom. There is an Academic Support Program (ASP) designed for students who need more support with reading, writing, math, and study skills. ASP can support students with mild learning difference. Phelps also strives to create and foster an equitable and inclusive learning environment that leans into diverse perspectives to create a supportive environment for all to learn. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts that develop a community where all can thrive.

The Phelps School is seeking a Mathematics Instructor to join our community of learners for an immediate start and or in the fall of 2021. The right candidate may also be considered to lead the Math Department as Chair. The successful applicant would be comfortable to teach mathematics through Calculus. Ability to teach Statistics is a plus. Full-time faculty members are expected to attend faculty meetings; maintain verbal and written professional contact with students, colleagues, and families; serve on committees as needed; and participate in the broader life of the School in support of our students’ experiences outside the classroom by coaching, serving in the residential life program, and being a mentor to a small group of students.  Housing is available.  

Applicants should be comfortable with technology and maintain classrooms that are student-centered. Classes are small by design, with approximately 3-8 students in a class. On campus housing provided for the performance of residential duties.
