Westtown School is currently seeking an Assistant/Associate Director of Athletics to support the Director of Athletics in leading and managing the athletics department. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this position will share responsibility for implementing, coordinating, and directing all athletic programs for students in grades 6-12. Specific shared responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, supporting an engaged and responsive coaching staff, providing oversight of communications and sports information, and coordinating various departmental logistics. As a student-centered educator, the Assistant/Associate Director of Athletics will work collaboratively with the department's coaching staff, students, and other community members to create positive experiences for a wide range of student-athletes.

Collaborate with the Communications department to promote Westtown Athletics both internally and externally;
Support management of the Middle School athletics program;
Work in conjunction with other school departments to ensure fields, competition, and practice spaces are reserved and properly set up;
Provide administrative management and support for all athletic events and teams;
Manage all youth sports organization outreach and coordination;
Assist with scheduling and oversight of transportation needs and logistics;
In coordination with the Equipment Manager, oversee ordering, distribution, collection and tracking of all uniforms, equipment, and other athletics inventory;
Assist in coordinating all departmental special events;
Assist in the interviewing, hiring, mentoring, and evaluating of external coaching staff;
Work in conjunction with the Athletic Advisory Council;
Support Admissions and Advancement initiatives and attend events when appropriate;
Attend FSL league meetings and training opportunities, when necessary;
Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics;
Coach sports in two seasons per year;
May support the Upper School residential program.
Bachelor’s degree required
A minimum of 5 years of relevant coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level
An educational background in athletic administration or relevant experience in athletic administration, preferably at an independent school
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities
Highly developed communication skills with the ability to effectively manage interpersonal conflicts
A strong character with a team-oriented spirit, and the ability to connect meaningfully with students throughout our diverse community
A deep commitment to enhancing an inclusive school community based on cultural competence, commitment to social justice, and respect for all voices
